Job description

BIOFerm™ is looking for a Project Manager, who will provide leadership for current projects from project kickoff through installation. Related experience managing the execution of projects is beneficial, along with a willingness to learn and grow with the company. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Madison, WI.

BIOFerm™ is a Wisconsin-based renewable energy company specializing in turnkey anaerobic digestion and biogas upgrading facilities. Our mission is to provide sustainable and economical solutions for organic waste diversion, transforming food waste, manure, biosolids, and other organic materials into renewable natural gas (RNG), green energy, vehicle fuel, heat, and organic products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and manage project objectives, budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
  • Develop and maintain project work plans, adjusting as needed to meet changing requirements.
  • Oversee development and review of construction and engineering documents, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Supervise project teams including engineers, construction managers, contractors, and site superintendents.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure clear communication and successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to achieve technical, regulatory, and performance goals.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to management.
  • Oversee site operations including safety, scheduling, inventory, asset management, and contractor coordination.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
  • Perform additional project-related tasks as needed to support successful delivery.
Competencies & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in wastewater, oil and gas, utility, ethanol, or renewable energy sectors.
  • 5+ years of on-site construction experience within related industries.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and construction management principles.
  • Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and bidding documents.
  • Skilled in scheduling, estimating, and contract negotiation.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Autodesk Build (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and passport.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
