Job description

Jr Application Engineer

The Jr Application Engineer provides technical support and solutions to customers. This position works closely with the engineering, production, and sales teams to design, implement, and optimize customer-specific applications. The Jr Applications Engineer ensures that products and processes meet customer needs while maintaining high standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Support & Problem Solving:
    • Provide technical support to customers, addressing application-specific issues.
    • Analyze customer requirements and recommend optimal solutions based on product capabilities.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems related to product design, manufacturing processes, and performance.
  • Product & Process Optimization:
    • Work with customers and internal teams to design and implement customized applications or modifications to existing products.
    • Optimize product designs, manufacturing processes, and equipment to improve efficiency and meet customer requirements.
    • When needed, perform on-site installations, testing, and product validation to ensure performance standards are met. ( < 20% )
  • Collaboration with Sales & Engineering Teams:
    • Work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and contribute to product proposals.
    • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop application-specific solutions and ensure design feasibility.
    • Support the development of product specifications and assist in product launches.
  • Training & Documentation:
    • Develop and maintain product documentation, user manuals, and technical guides for customers.
    • Provide technical training to customers and internal teams on product functionality, installation, and maintenance.
    • Create and update troubleshooting documentation and FAQs to improve customer self-service.
  • Continuous Improvement & Industry Trends:
    • Stay informed on industry trends, new technologies, and competitor products to ensure solutions remain competitive and innovative.
    • Identify areas for continuous improvement in products, processes, and customer support.
    • Participate in internal and external training sessions to stay updated on new tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Cost & Resource Management:
    • Assist in cost estimation and resource planning for customer-specific applications.
    • Work within project budgets and timelines to ensure efficient and cost-effective solutions.
    • Provide cost-effective recommendations for customer-specific applications without compromising product quality.
    • Performs other duties and participates in Company initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Maritime, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
  • 1-3 years of experience in an engineering role.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product design, and industrial automation.
  • Experience with 3D and 2D CAD software like SolidWorks, and simulation tools like Ansys.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical customers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Working Conditions

Environmental

Works in a combination of a standard office, laboratory, and general normal manufacturing conditions. Uses general office equipment such as computers, telephones and other business task machines.

Physical/Mental

Intermittent sitting, standing and walking in the ordinary course of performing duties in office, laboratory and normal manufacturing settings.
