Location Type: This is an onsite position in Holland, MI.How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Review bills of materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure completeness and manufacturability.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate make-versus-buy decisions and support sourcing strategies.
  • Develop manufacturing plans, routing strategies, and scheduling priorities to maximize efficiency and shop utilization.
  • Determine material requirements and stock sizes to support fabrication and machining operations.
  • Monitor machine and fabrication shop capacity and provide short- and long-term planning recommendations.
  • Schedule work based on machine capabilities, workforce skills, and production priorities.
  • Coordinate resources to support both planned production and urgent customer requirements.
  • Provide visibility into manufacturing constraints, delivery status, and production performance.
  • Support decisions regarding in-house versus outsourced manufacturing activities.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, production schedules, and manufacturing data.
  • Ensure documentation and production information are organized and accessible to shop personnel.
  • Track and communicate on-time delivery performance and key manufacturing metrics.
  • Maintain current machine and fabrication shop dashboards and performance reporting.

What You'll Bring:
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field, OR equivalent experience calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study.
  • Three (3) or more years of planning and scheduling experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with production planning, capacity management, and manufacturing operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • APICS, APA, or related planning/scheduling certification is a plus.
  • Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience within the automation, custom machinery, or advanced manufacturing industry, is strongly preferred.
