Jr Territory Manager
Location: Wilmington Branch | Schedule: Monday-Friday, Salary | Compensation: $40K-$50K/annually
Homans Associates (HA) is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world, Watsco, Inc. We proudly distribute the Mitsubishi and Bryant brands of HVAC equipment, as well as a full line of HVAC residential and commercial parts, supplies, and accessories. We have locations throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey. We currently have an opening for a Territory Manager. There is no relocation assistance offered for this position.
As a Jr. Territory Manager, you will build relationships with HVAC contractors in your assigned territory by introducing our products/services, staying engaging with customers, and growing new accounts over time. This is a customer-facing, outside sales role that includes cold calling-so personality, confidence, and the ability to connect with people are key.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JR TERRITORY MANAGER:
  • Successfully complete the Homans Associates Jr Territory Manager training program.
  • Cold call and prospect HVAC contractors to introduce our company and services/products.
  • Build and maintain a target account list using available resources (directories, internet research, trade shows, etc.).
  • Travel the assigned territory to meet with customers in person and follow up on leads.
  • Engage customers through friendly, confident conversations, ask questions, listen to needs, and earn trust.
  • Support sales conversations by assisting with product/service recommendations based on what the customer needs.
  • Quote and help process orders/contracts in line with company procedures (with coaching and oversight as needed).
  • Track leads and opportunities in the CRM/database, ensuring accurate notes and follow-up dates.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects to convert interested accounts into active customers.
  • Help address customer questions and concerns (customer service mindset), escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Participate in trade shows and local events when scheduled to grow visibility and lead flow.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE JR TERRITORY MANAGER:
  • Strong outgoing personality and genuine interest in engaging with people.
  • Comfortable with cold calling and initiating conversations with contractors.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, customer service, hospitality, retail, or a people-focused role (HVAC experience is not required-sales attitude is).
  • Willingness to learn: open-minded and coachable, with a desire to build a long-term career in sales.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and manage priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

TECHNICAL SKILLS OF JR TERRITORY MANAGER:
  • Beginner to intermediate ability with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Comfortable using basic online tools, email, and CRM/data entry systems.
  • Ability to learn company systems and processes quickly.
