Job description

Role Purpose
Provide Business-as-Usual (BAU) support for the Network Assets Access Control team, focused on Network Access Control (NAC) operations. This role supplements existing resources who are currently engaged in project work and ensures consistent enforcement of network access policies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day NAC operations for the Network Assets Access Control team.
  • Monitor and manage NAC policies and access decisions across the enterprise network.
  • Work with 802.1X authentication on switchports to:
  • Authenticate known devices before they join the network.
  • Enforce blocking or restricted access for unknown/unauthorized devices.
  • Perform routine NAC tasks within a defined and limited scope, following established processes and runbooks.
  • Collaborate closely with the NAC lead (Nilesh) and other network/security engineers to troubleshoot and resolve NAC-related issues.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer and cross-training sessions to ramp up quickly on client-specific processes and tools.
  • Provide input and feedback on NAC configurations, rules, and exception handling as needed.
Required Technical Skills
  • Core NAC experience (1-3 years hands-on) with at least one enterprise NAC platform:
  • Preferred: Forescout
  • Also acceptable: Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, or other comparable NAC solutions.
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Network Access Control concepts
  • 802.1X authentication and authorization flows
  • Switchport-level authentication and enforcement (allow/block devices).
  • General networking fundamentals:
  • VLANs, basic switching concepts, and network device connectivity.
  • Familiarity with enterprise network environments and standard operational practices.
Experience & Level
  • Profile: Junior-level network/security engineer with strong NAC exposure.
  • Experience:
  • ~1-3 years of hands-on experience working with NAC products.
  • NAC can have been part of a broader network engineer role (does not have to be 100% NAC historically), but practical, hands-on NAC experience is mandatory.
  • Experience working in a global or large enterprise environment is a plus.
Soft Skills & Behaviors
  • Coachability: Open to feedback, willing to learn client-specific tools and processes quickly.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with leads and stakeholders in the US and offshore.
  • Ability to operate in a focused, specialized role (primarily NAC, not a generalist-only position).
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate (e.g., whiteboarding sessions, quick consults with NAC lead).
Engagement Details
  • Start target: Within 30 days, subject to background checks.
  • Duration: Through end of the current year (short-term assignment, with potential for conversion/extension based on business needs and budget).
  • Interviews expected to be lightweight and fast-tracked (typically 1-2 rounds, including NAC lead participation), with emphasis on:
  • NAC hands-on experience
  • Coachability and communication
