The Role: Jr Audio Video Technician
As a Jr Audio Video Technician, you will support the technology that powers meetings, executive presentations, live events, and daily collaboration across Switch facilities. Your work helps ensure conference rooms, event spaces, and presentation systems operate reliably while providing an exceptional experience for employees, customers, and guests.
In this role, you will troubleshoot and maintain audio/video systems, prepare meeting spaces, support live events, and assist with system improvements that enhance reliability, usability, and performance.
What You'll Do

  • Support and troubleshoot audio/video systems in conference rooms and event spaces.
  • Perform routine maintenance, equipment testing, and cleaning while coordinating larger service needs.
  • Help resolve audio, video, lighting, and presentation issues before and during meetings and live events.
  • Configure audio and video routing for displays, streaming platforms, and presentation equipment.
  • Preload, test, and verify presentations and multimedia content before scheduled meetings and events.
  • Provide on-site technical support before, during, and after meetings, executive presentations, and live events.
  • Welcome participants, set up rooms, explain room technology, and provide real-time technical assistance.
  • Maintain documentation for equipment inventories, system configurations, signal flow diagrams, and network connections.
  • Research emerging AV technologies and recommend improvements that strengthen reliability and user experience.
  • Maintain AV equipment, software update, configuration, and infrastructure databases.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts that improve operational efficiency and service quality.

What We're Looking For

  • You solve technical problems calmly in fast-paced environments.
  • You deliver excellent customer service and create positive end-user experiences.
  • You explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution.
  • You adapt quickly to new protocols and technologies.
  • You work well independently and within a collaborative team.
  • You take pride in delivering dependable technology and polished meeting experiences.

What You'll Bring
Required

  • Two or more years of experience supporting various AV systems in conference rooms and meeting spaces. This is junior level role.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and macOS.
  • Knowledge of video formats, display technologies, resolutions, and media distribution systems.
  • Working knowledge of digital and analog audio systems.
  • Familiarity with AV control protocols, including RS-232, Telnet, IR, and IP.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while providing excellent customer service.

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Communications, IT, AV Production, or related field.
  • Experience supporting conferencing platforms, streaming technologies, and media codecs.
  • Experience supporting QSC Q-SYS environments.
  • Experience with RTI Integration Designer.
  • Experience with Lutron RA2 or RA3 lighting control systems.

We recognize that strong candidates may not meet every preferred qualification. If your experience closely aligns with this role, we encourage you to apply.
