What is a journeyman helper?

Journeyman Helpers are entry-level workers who assist skilled tradespeople, such as electricians, plumbers, or carpenters, in their daily tasks. They perform duties like carrying tools, preparing job sites, cleaning up debris, and handling basic repairs or installations under the supervision of a journeyman. This position allows individuals to gain hands-on experience and learn valuable trade skills, often serving as a stepping stone toward becoming a journeyman themselves. Journeyman Helpers must follow safety protocols and be willing to learn on the job.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a journeyman helper?

To thrive as a Journeyman Helper, you need a basic understanding of construction or trade practices, physical stamina, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with hand and power tools, safety protocols, and sometimes OSHA certifications are typically required.
