OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. FOX6-Milwaukee is seeking an experienced and highly skilled news producer to elevate our news coverage. We are searching for a candidate with a genuine flair for innovative storytelling and a commitment to journalistic integrity. RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will create a newscast that delivers unique content and distinguishes FOX6 from the competition. You must maintain unwavering accuracy and demonstrate urgency in your news writing. You will exhibit strong news judgment while managing multiple facets of the broadcast news production such as stacking, showcasing, and writing teases.

This role includes producing both traditional linear broadcasts and non-traditional news content, with a strong emphasis on producing for streaming platforms. You will help develop and execute streaming newscasts that are dynamic, fast-paced, and tailored for digital audiences, incorporating innovative formats, real-time updates, and audience engagement strategies.

You will execute error-free newscasts from the booth, staying calm under pressure while communicating clearly with your team. You will establish FOX6 as the go-to source for breaking news and demonstrate a strong understanding of the evolving broadcast business, including live streaming and maintaining an on-line presence.

QUALIFICATIONS:
You must have a college degree (preferably in Journalism) with a minimum of two years producing experience at a commercial television station. Excellent news judgment is required. You must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the ability to pivot quickly in breaking news situations.

The world of TV news is constantly evolving, and you must be well-versed in all aspects of journalism, from writing to sourcing through social networking. Experience producing or contributing to streaming or digital newscasts is strongly preferred. Non-linear editing skills are a plus. This is a weekend position. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
