THE COMPANY: MediaSource is an award-winning communications agency that specializes in video production, public relations, social media and strategic insights for major brands and news media. THE ROLE: MediaSource is seeking a part-time (15-20 hours per week) content creation intern for the fall semester. This is a paid position for someone with a passion for writing and visual storytelling for broadcast, digital and social media. The selected candidate can gain hands-on experience shooting, editing, and producing content alongside our experienced team. This is an excellent opportunity for Journalism, Broadcast Communications, or Film/Video Production majors to apply their skills in a fast-paced, award-winning communications firm. Success in this position requires a keen eye for visual detail, strong organizational skills, and the initiative to capture compelling content on deadline. College juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply.
Learn Through These Experiences:
  • Brainstorming for visual and multimedia story development.
  • Research and information gathering on potential story topics for client communications and news pitches.
  • Writing and producing content for various social and digital platforms.
  • Hands-on operation of professional video and field audio equipment.
  • Support field production as a lighting/audio grip, and production assistant for client shoots and news media appearances.
  • Log, select, and pre-edit compelling sound bites and B-roll for video packages.
  • Collaborating directly with the creative content team on video editing (using Adobe Premiere Pro) and story scripting/writing.
  • Supporting digital media delivery and distribution.
  • Story writing/producing

WHO YOU ARE: Self-starter with the ability to be assigned tasks, prioritize work and work on deadline, with direction and feedback. Ability to work on various stages of multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to adapt to change in requests and direction. Comfortable in a collaborative environment which uses honest, direct, authentic communication.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and in good academic standing, with coursework in Journalism, Broadcast Communications, Film/Video Production, or a related field.
  • Prior experience or coursework with field videography and non-linear editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage 15-20 hours per week while attending classes.
  • Prior internship experience in creative services or marketing is not required but is a plus.
