The Accounting Assistant III will process miscellaneous accounting duties, filing and support. Ideal candidate skills include:

Essential Duties:

ยท Post rent collections and adjustments as needed *

ยท Review tenant activity in accounting software for accuracy. *

ยท Post rent corrections or adjustments as needed in the accounting software *

ยท Communicate with Site Managers regarding tenant ledgers, payment status and account discrepancies *

ยท Investigate and resolve short payments, unapplied cash and invoice disputes *

ยท Reconcile the tenant ledgers to maintain accurate receivable records for each property *

ยท Reconcile both the HAP and Tenant Side of each ledger *

ยท Bi-weekly payroll processing including checking cash balances for available funds *

ยท Downloading miscellaneous bank statements *

ยท Researching bank and payroll JEs for others *

ยท Timely processing of security deposit dispositions (Move out packets) to include review of required documents *

ยท Set up bank transfers *

ยท Post security deposit payments into the accounting software *

ยท Prepare & post various journal entries. *

ยท Reconcile bank accounts. *

ยท Assist with quarterly and annual accounting reports *

ยท Train and assist with new accounting employees *

ยท Provide training to new hires on accounting software during new hire orientation *

ยท Acts in the capacity of support for compliance, portfolio managers, and/or upper management involving challenging issues surrounding HUD and or RD subsidies *

ยท Performs other duties as assigned. *
