Job description

Position Summary
The Production Assistant/Technical Editor is responsible for editing, formatting, and quality assurance of technical documents, including environmental reports, engineering studies, and regulatory submittals. The ideal candidate will have strong editing skills, experience working with scientific or engineering content, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Edit, proofread, format and produce technical reports, environmental documents, and engineering deliverables
  • Format documents using company templates and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and project managers to clarify technical content
  • Produce hard copy documents as necessary, including printing, folding oversized pages, punching, and binding
  • Maintain and apply company style guides and document standards


Minimum Qualifications

  • Technical editing or writing experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience editing scientific, environmental, or engineering documents
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and documentation (e.g., NEPA, permitting reports)
  • Experience editing large, multi-author documents (100+ pages)
  • Understanding of civil engineering, water resources, or infrastructure projects
