Job description

Start a life-long career with a fast-paced, family oriented company! Mill Creek Lumber & Supply is searching for an Accounting Manager to analyze and communicate financial information to management for sound economic decision making. This is a non-supervisory manager position and offers a bonus potential of up to 10% of their annual salary.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly and annual close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate and complete
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register - this includes recording monthly depreciation expense, tracking asset additions and disposals, posting related journal entries, and ensuring the subledger agrees to the general ledger monthly
  • Calculate and process bi-weekly commissions - this includes gathering sales data, applying commission rate schedules, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate disbursement.
  • Complete and submit governmental and industry surveys - this includes gathering required financial and operational data, ensuring accuracy and consistency with internal records, and meeting all applicable filing deadlines.
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual sales and use tax returns in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support annual audits and provide requested documentation to auditors.
  • Analyzing financial reports and records

  • Performing variance analysis and reconciling accounts

  • 3+ years professional accounting experienc
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and efficient
  • Strong communication skills
