Job Summary:

The Health Center Manager is responsible for providing supervision and monitoring of the Health Center operations.  As a member of the team, the Health Center Manager demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups, while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to supervise the Health Center staff
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to audit and monitor the Center’s accounts receivable, ensuring that billing and collections procedures are performed in a timely manner
  • Conduct Staff performance Evaluations effectively and timely        
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and provides Administration a copy of minutes
  • Order and keep inventory of clinic and office supplies/checks in supplies timely
  • Interact with appropriate personnel from the hospitals and agencies in a professional manner
  • Willing to assist with special projects as directed
  • Oversee the approval of Sliding Scale applications
  • Open and distribute mail in a timely manner
  • Check and make necessary corrections to Health Center journals on a daily basis

  • Oversee the verification of insurance eligibility on all patients
  • Maintain a regular, punctual attendance
  • Adhere to the internet, electronic mail and computer policies
  • Make bank deposits in a timely manner
  • Keep an open line of communication with providers and staff
  • Adhere to and enforces organizational policies
  • Maintain journal errors at or below acceptable level (use the below section to calculate score)
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance
  • Verify timecard at the end of each pay period
  • Performs related work, as assigned
  • Completes the required IT/Security trainings prior to the deadline
  • Effectively evaluates employees by completing 6 month and annual evaluations prior to the deadline
  • Counsels employees on areas of improvement by completing trainings and PCN’s in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Good typing skills and knowledge of computers
  • Previous medical office experience or related experience
  • Must demonstrate an ability to supervise personnel
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in order to prepare reports and follow-up with minimal supervision
  • Capability to convey and enforce policies and procedures
  • Must be able to multi-task while working under pressure and focusing to meet deadlines

Physical and Other Requirements:

  • Must continuously listen, visualize, and have dexterity and eye-hand coordination, ability for simple grasping and speed work
  • Must demonstrate positive personal attributes such as professionalism, honesty and integrity
  • Must be conscientious of maintenance and appearance of the Health Center
  • Must frequently sit, squat, reach and use both right and left forearm rotation and walk
  • Must occasionally kneel, twist, have ability to grasp firmly, lift and carry in excess of 10 lbs. and push and pull in excess of 10 lbs.
