Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Located in Carol Stream, IL the accountant role is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial integrity through the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records.  This role will create and maintain monthly journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. The accountant will analyze financial information and maintain record of assets, liabilities, or other financial activities within the organization. This position will act as a business partner for the ITW Graphics IDS accounting Team as well as external stakeholders including banks, customers and vendors.  This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial insights to support business decision making. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage G/L system including account maintenance, month/quarter end procedures, and account reconciliation

    Bank Reconciliation

    Validate AR and AP Reconciliation

    Assist with building Inventory reports WIP, Raw, FG

    Bad Debt

    Additional Month end Reconciliations as needed

  • Assist with meeting and Maintaining ITW Graphics IDS Metrics

    AR% (AR Over 60 days)

    DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)

    MHO (Months on Hand – Inventory)

    SLOB (Slow & Obsolete Inventory)

  • Maintain and Record Sites Purchase and Travel Cards

    Approve for final payment to bank

    Export P Card and Travel Card Data to create monthly expense Journal Entries

  • Record Capital Spend and Maintain Fixed Assets

    Write up financials for Capital Requests

    Maintain Approved Capital Spend

    Add and Dispose of Fixed Assets

    Run and Record Monthly Depreciation

    Maintain Vehicle Fleet – Replace assets when needed

  • Assist in Processing AP Invoices and payments to banks

  • Cash Application

  • Assist in posting customer invoices and collections

  • Assist in yearly report requirements; Unclaimed Property, AP Spend, Tax Kit

  • Assist both internal and external auditors during audit engagements

  • Engage in assigned projects focusing on continuous improvement by applying key 80/20, PLS, and USa principles and techniques. Make process improvement/efficiency recommendations. Champion the use of the ITW toolbox

  • Maintain good internal control procedures to safeguard company assets in accordance with ITW Financial Policy and US GAAP

  • Other duties may be assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with an emphasis in accounting required

Experience/Skills: 

  • Minimum 1 year accounting experience in related field, audit experience a plus

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent data entry, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Capable of working independently and managing to deadlines

  • Able to be diversified, to multi-task, and to prioritize

  • Proficient in the use of ERP systems

  • Proficient in the knowledge and use of MS Office; specifically, Excel

  • Knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements and experience in their application
