Job description

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Visual Communications Graphics Specialist.

The Visual Communications/Graphic Specialist I provides visual communication and graphic design support to the Nuclear Enterprise Center (NEC) at Fort Meade in support of a USSTRATCOM customer under the Systems Engineering and Integration (SEI) framework, supporting the Enterprise Mission Management team.

This role is responsible for developing clear, professional, and visually effective internal and external communication products that translate complex technical and mission-related information for diverse stakeholders. The specialist designs and produces materials such as instructional manuals, how-to guides, newsletters, trifold brochures, slick sheets, journal articles, and other supporting documents using digital illustration, photo editing, and layout software, while ensuring consistency with organizational standards. Through collaboration with mission partners and subject matter experts, the position enhances information dissemination, mission understanding, and enterprise-level communication effectiveness across the Nuclear Enterprise.

This is a full-time position onsite at Fort Meade.


  • Assist the NEC's mission with development of graphics materials such as division newsletters and marketing brochures.
  • Provide graphics for documentation, architectures, strategic plans, and training materials.
  • Work with technical subject matter experts to determine effective graphics development/presentation of technical concepts for incorporation into the NEC's documentation and websites.
  • Assist with maintenance and development of SharePoint sites for multiple divisions within the NEC to distribute information for support of the NEC mission. 

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen 
Clearance: Must have a minimum of a TS clearance at time of application with willingness to be upgraded to with SCI eligibility. 
Education: BS or BA in one of the following fields: Communications, Graphic Design, or equivalent.
Years of Experience: 3 years relevant experience in Visual Communications/ Graphics.
Additional Experience:

  • Providing support in development of organization's internal and external commination products.
  • Developing instruction manuals, howto guides, journal articles, and other supporting documents.
  • Uses digital illustration, photo editing software, and layout software to create designs of newsletter, trifolds, slick sheet in order to communication complex and technical information easily to mission partners.

Additional Preferred Experience: NC3 or related experience preferred
