Core Overview and Essential Job Functions

The Sanitation Technician III is responsible for supporting Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) by maintaining clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions throughout the facility. This role ensures that production, processing, employee common areas, warehouses, trash collection areas, and exterior grounds are cleaned and maintained in accordance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace standards. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex cleaning and sanitation regimens including bulk liquid vessels, tanks, new equipment installations, food ingredient and allergen cleaning
  • Lead cleaning team to complete group tasks
  • Integral cleaning and sanitizing support for production washdowns, including in process and post-cleaning inspections of production equipment
  • Evaluate completion and effectiveness of all cleaning and sanitation assignments, including maintenance of all cleaning records
  • Apply cleaning and sanitation principles in response to environmental microbiological and pest control results
  • Chemical and supplies inventory, purchase, and cost and usage control
  • Monitor plant environment for insect and pest activity, harborages, spillage and continuously improving methods of cleaning and sanitation
  • Troubleshoot and repair valves, sensors, and dispensers for hand sinks, hand soap, hand towels, auto flushers, boot scrubber, ware washer, chemical dispensers, air foaming devices, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning and sanitation equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude for understanding cleaning and sanitation of process pumps, cleaning in place processes, production equipment
  • Complete required sanitation and cleaning records accurately and timely
  • Meet all responsibilities of Technician Level I & II

What You'll Need / Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Successful completion of pulmonology testing and successful mask fit test to assist in mixing cleaning and sanitation issues as needed
  • Ability to safely operate forklift and pass necessary forklift certifications
  • Ability to safely operate high lift and pass necessary testing
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and interactions

This role requires a positive attitude focusing on teamwork to collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals. Strong attention to detail is essential to ensure plant cleanliness to allow for production. must have keen observation skills and attention to detail that will allow you to see the small details as well as the large details. Self-starter and ambitious personality needed to help succeed.
