Job description

John Muir Specialty Medical Group is seeking a well-trained Gynecologic Oncologist, committed to excellent patient care to join our Bay Area team in highly desirable Walnut Creek, CA. You will be joining the well-established practice of Dr. Babak Edraki, a highly regarded gynecologic oncologist practicing at the Jean and Ken Hoffman Cancer Center, a John Muir Health and UCSF joint venture in Walnut Creek, CA. Dr. Edraki is known for his expertise in clinical trials, an aggressive approach to the treatment of ovarian cancer, hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), and minimally invasive surgical techniques using the DaVinci Robot. He takes a patient-centered approach, offering personalized care and ensuring that each treatment plan is tailored to the individual’s specific needs.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of gynecologic cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulvar cancers. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support for patients at every stage of their diagnosis and treatment journey.

Qualifications:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Gynecologic Oncology.
  • An active, unrestricted medical license in California (must be active on start date).
  • Proven experience in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers.
  • Strong surgical skills, with experience in minimally invasive techniques preferred.
  • Current DEA license
  • Must possess or acquire a Fluoroscopy license issued by the State of California
Preferred:
  • Experience with clinical research related to gynecologic oncology.

As part of a rapidly expanding program, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team that includes nurse navigators, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, clinical trial coordinators, advanced practice practitioners, and an ICU team who work together, in one location, to ensure each patient receives individualized, high quality and coordinated care.
