Job description

Pathology Group of Louisiana (PGL) is a pathology group located in Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge ("Red Stick") is located on the Mississippi River and is the second largest metropolitan city in Louisiana with over 200,000 residents. The city benefits from being the capital of Louisiana and also the home of the flagship Louisiana State University campus. There is a thriving arts culture and food scene and easy access to unique festivals throughout the year. It is close to the Gulf of Mexico beaches and New Orleans is only an hour drive away.

PGL is a private practice group with well respected, board-certified, experienced anatomic and clinical pathologists that provides a full spectrum of services for hospitals, surgery centers and clinical laboratories in Baton Rouge and throughout Southeast Louisiana. We provide services to one of the largest health systems in Louisiana (includes a 988-bed hospital and a free-standing Children's Hospital). PGL also provides services to Woman's Hospital, which has the largest obstetric delivery service in Louisiana and was recognized in 2021 as one of the world's best hospitals by Newsweek. The hospital has also been recognized for its breast and GYN state of the art oncology care.

PGL has employment opportunities for AP/CP board certified or board eligible pathologists. Both partnership track and non-partnership positions are available. Subspecialty training and/or board certification in Dermatopathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, Cytopathology, Surgical Pathology Fellowship, Gynecologic Pathology or Gynecologic-Oncology Pathology (subspecialty training and/or fellowship) is desired but not required.

The position will present the opportunity to work in a collegial environment with exposure to diverse inpatient and outpatient clinical material. There are multiple subspecialists in the group for consultation with difficult cases. PGL also employs 5 certified pathologist assistants that cover all gross dissection duties and assist with autopsies.

PGL is flexible regarding start date. A sign-on bonus/relocation assistance is available. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Candidates are asked to submit letter of interest and curriculum vitae, including state licenses held and AP/CP board certifications.
