Maintenance Supervisor – Landscaping
Location: Yuba-Sutter Area
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Saturday

Job Summary:
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for a local landscaping company in the Yuba-Sutter area. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing landscape maintenance crews, maintaining quality standards, training team members, and ensuring properties are serviced safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in professional landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, and plant care, along with the leadership skills needed to train, motivate, and hold crews accountable. This position combines field supervision, customer service, quality control, and hands-on landscape work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, and support landscape maintenance crews in daily field operations.
• Conduct morning crew huddles to review routes, priorities, and safety expectations.
• Perform regular site visits to inspect workmanship and ensure quality standards are met.
• Mow, trim, edge, weed, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, groundcover, and landscaped areas as needed.
• Program, inspect, and troubleshoot irrigation systems and controllers, including Hunter and Rain Bird.
• Test irrigation systems, adjust nozzles, clean emitters, and coordinate necessary repairs.
• Identify common plants, trees, shrubs, and groundcover and understand seasonal care requirements.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and address service concerns appropriately.
• Train and coach crew members on landscaping techniques, safety procedures, equipment use, and company standards.
• Maintain tools, vehicles, irrigation kits, and landscaping equipment in clean and safe working condition.
• Safely load, transport, and unload landscaping materials and equipment.
• Complete site inspections, photos, notes, spray logs, and other field documentation using Jobber.
• Identify opportunities to improve routes, workflow, quality, and overall department efficiency.
• Participate in fieldwork as needed to maintain coverage and service standards.
• Follow OSHA and company safety requirements and ensure crews consistently follow safe work practices.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional landscape maintenance experience required.
• Previous crew lead, foreman, or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, including Hunter, Rain Bird, or similar systems.
• Working knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs, groundcover, and seasonal landscape maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose basic irrigation and landscape maintenance issues.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and hold team members accountable.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and field-service applications; Jobber experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and comfortable performing hands-on fieldwork.
