Escondido Eyecare is excited to welcome a Fill-In Optometrist to our practice in Escondido, California.

Established in 1990, Escondido Eyecare has built a strong reputation for delivering comprehensive, high-quality eye care to families throughout San Diego County. We combine advanced technology, premium products, and personalized service to create an exceptional patient experience.

Our practice emphasizes thorough patient-centered care; taking the time to educate patients about their symptoms, treatment options, and long-term eye health. We’re especially passionate about prevention, including guidance on protective eyewear like sunglasses and blue-light lenses. We capture retinal images and OCT’s on every single patient.

You’ll work alongside a dedicated team and have access to modern diagnostic equipment, including Optos with OCT, autorefractors, digital lensometer, FDT visual field, slit lamp, phoropter, and BIO. Patients also benefit from a curated optical selection, on-site lab, and access to eye drops and vitamins for their visual needs.


What You’ll Do:

  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations
  • Provide medical and emergency eye care
  • See an average of 10-12 patients per day
  • Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and prevention



Fill-In Schedule

  • Friday, June 26, 2026: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM   (1-hour break at 1:00 PM)
  • Thursday, July 9, 2026: 11:00 AM - 8:00PM (  1-hour break at 3:00 PM)
  • Friday, July 10, 2026: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM   (1-hour break at 1:00 PM)
  • Tuesday, September 8, 2026: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM   (1-hour break at 1:00 PM)
  • Wednesday, September 9, 2026: 11:00 AM - 8:00PM (  1-hour break at 3:00 PM)


If you're unable to fill all of those time slots, please let me know which days and times could work for you. 



Minimum Qualifications:

  • California Optometry license
  • TPA certification
  • Bilingual in Spanish


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Glaucoma certification


Compensation & Benefits:

  • For 8 hour days, we offer $550 guaranteed, plus 18% of production over $2,500.
  • For 7 hour days, so we offer $480 guaranteed plus 18% of production over $2,200
  • Paid Time Off: Up to 24 hours annually (accrual begins after 30 days; usable after 3 months)
