Job description

In this role you will:

  • The URM is responsible for leading, acquiring and growing profitable long-term relationships with priority on HSBC clients resident in France, focusing on UHNW clients.
  • The URM holder is expected to have a strong network of relationships and connections and capable of using such connections and network to attract new UHNW clients.
  • The job holder will need to establish an understanding of clients needs, operating with the top decision makers within the client organization.
  • This URM will deliver innovative high value solutions across all product lines, gaining significant business and sustainable returns for the wider Group and provide client leadership to teams to support and deliver the full services of the bank, and the Group’s, based on agreed client plan.


The tasks for this role will include some or all of the following:

  • Maintain 'Trusted Advisor' relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned clients, with a proactive calling program with UHNW prospects and subsequently clients
  • Coordinate origination and execution of activities across the spectrum of Global Private Bank products / service globally and offer Group solutions in conjunction with colleagues
  • Originate businesses opportunities with other divisions (“Commercial Banking” and “Global Banking & Markets”)
  • Coordinate with investment advisors, credit specialists, wealth planners and product specialists
  • Drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product sales, customer satisfaction
  • Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required KYC quality
  • Ensure pricing is aligned with bank value proposition and implemented correctly
  • Identify liquidity events and financing opportunities, including working with client’s advisors
  • Grow HSBC's share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved
  • Lead by example through financial results with excellent corporate behavior
  • Provide assistance to fellow Relationship Managers
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators


Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

  • Significant experience in Private Banking working with French Ultra High Net individuals and families or related fields within financial services
  • Significant (ideally 5+ years) relationship management experience in private banking sector or investment banking with UHNW segment clients, ideally with French UHNW clients / families
  • Proven track record in asset gathering, asset growth and revenue generation
  • High-level commercial negotiating skills
  • Highly developed communication skills for use in direct client contact and problem solving
  • Ability to provide strong financial and statistical analysis
  • Great customer service-oriented approach
  • Attention to detail and ability to think creatively to solve problems
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets and products
  • Great oral & verbal communication skills in both French & English
