Position Summary
The Student Assistant for the Student Engagement Center (SEC) assists the SEC Staff with event management, the SEC Information Desk, and the Red's Pub Check-Out Desk within the Student Engagement Center. The Student Assistant reports to the Events Operating Manager.
This is a student position open to current UIW students who may be hired through the Federal Work-Study Program or student employment.
Essential Functions
  • Set up and break down of rooms in the Student Engagement Center, including SEC Ballroom and meeting rooms.
  • Set up and break down of audio/visual equipment.
  • Staff the SEC Info Desk, to provide helpful information.
  • Staff the Red's Pub Check Out Desk, to check out games.
  • Customer service to all who come into the SEC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference and the NCAA.

Required Education
Currently enrolled UIW student.
Required Work Experience
Previous work experience is not required.
Training is available for setups, break downs, gaming equipment, and audio/visual knowledge.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
None.
Work Hours
  • As a group, the students staff the Student Engagement Center 8am-10pm, daily; Must have night and weekend availability;
  • Please note: Each student will have a regular weekly work schedule and have the opportunity to pick up additional hours as the event load allows. Students must work 10 hours per week, but not more than 20 hours per week.

Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs, for room setups and tear downs of tables, chairs, gaming equipment and audio/visual equipment.
