Job description

A Coach at Sage Hill School is responsible for developing and leading their respective program while supporting and upholding the School’s mission. A Coach must motivate, instruct and provide feedback to student athletes in an effort to improve both individual and team performance.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Teach relevant skills, tactics and techniques consistent with Sage Hill School values
  • Monitor and enhance performance by providing feedback to student athletes
  • Manage and maintain facilities and equipment related to the program
  • Follow all NFHS and CIF rules and regulations related to the program
  • Handle parent concerns related to the program
  • Attend all pertinent CIF, League and Sage Hill meetings pertaining to Athletics
  • Other duties as delegated by the Director of Athletics
  • Experience as a coach preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong conflict resolution
  • Excellent collegiality, professionalism and organizational ability
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of the culture and goals of independent schools
  • Ability to work well with teenagers and their parents
  • Ability to use sound judgment and work independently
