You will work closely with Asset Management professionals to support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and monitoring of our hydropower portfolio. Your primary focus of work will be on CC&L Infrastructure's four hydropower assets in British Columbia and Ontario, including run-of-river, peaking, and seasonal storage assets.
Each asset is approximately 20MW - 30 MW with the operations and maintenance conducted by CC&L-employed team members. This role presents the unique opportunity to garner hands-on experience and knowledge related to various functions of the hydropower business, working directly with Operators in the field to members of the Board of Directors. The role is expected to be dynamic, with the opportunity to grow into additional responsibilities across CC&L's other renewable energy assets.
By joining us, you will make a real impact by working on important and challenging projects that contribute meaningfully to our business. What You Will Do Contribute to the full asset management process; work with internal and external stakeholders to identify/mitigate risks, manage discrete projects and enhance value across the hydro portfolio. Develop an understanding of the strategic operations of each hydro facility to support water management and the ongoing analysis of operational optimization initiatives. Draft annual operating budgets for each facility, support approvals, and track spending throughout the year.
Support the projects' commercial activities including contract management, contractor performance, and procurement. Work with the Asset Management team to manage policies and procedures related to regulatory, environmental, and health & safety compliance requirements. Collect asset information in order to analyze and draft reports related to asset/portfolio performance in all facets of the business, including but not limited to generation, H&S, environmental, and budgets.
Support and facilitate the implementation of preventative maintenance practices, programs, and policies, ensuring all practices are documented and aligned to best industry practices. Work collaboratively with technical teams and site operators to troubleshoot outages and operational issues. Communicate complex ideas and analyses to advisory, management, and investment committees both verbally and written.
Attend operational, board, and project meetings, as required. Travel to operational assets regularly to build operational knowledge of the facility, audit business and safety practices, and support the management of critical projects and activities.
