We are seeking a systems engineer who enjoys a fast-paced environment and will improve our ability to define and develop command and control (C2) systems that deliver trusted, mission-relevant decisions to the warfighter. We will support your professional development as a go-to person for understanding of defense systems architecture, operational concepts, and requirements. As a Decision Systems Engineer: Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to systems engineering activities on sophisticated air, missile, and multi-domain defense programs, in the context of a focused digital engineering development process. You will serve on a highly motivated multi-disciplinary team that: develops and evaluates new capabilities; figures out how to implement those capabilities in new or existing systems; uses models and simulations to evaluate different options; translates selected concepts into specific functional and performance requirements; and presents results in technical meetings and program reviews with government, contractor, and research laboratory participants. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... * Have a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, physics, or mathematics.
* Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
* Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
