Job description

Our client, a respected and well-established jewellery retailer in Fort Saskatchewan, is seeking a full-time Store Manager to lead their team and oversee day-to-day store operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys coaching a team, working directly with customers and creating a welcoming, professional retail environment. The Store Manager will be responsible for driving sales performance, supporting operational excellence and ensuring every customer receives attentive, knowledgeable service.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead, coach and support the sales team to provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Set clear expectations and help team members achieve individual and store sales goals.
  • Participate actively in sales and assist customers in selecting meaningful pieces.
  • Build long-standing client relationships through attentive service, trust and integrity.
  • Prepare staff schedules and ensure appropriate coverage based on business needs.
  • Provide regular feedback, recognize strong performance and address performance concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling and point-of-sale activities.
  • Monitor store results, identify sales opportunities and take practical steps to improve performance.
  • Ensure merchandise, showcases and sales areas are attractive, clean and well organized.
  • Oversee inventory control, product receiving, transfers, cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintain strong loss-prevention, store-security and merchandise-handling practices.
  • Ensure customer orders, repairs and special requests are handled accurately and followed through to completion.
  • Respond to customer questions or concerns with professionalism, sound judgment and a commitment to finding appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of fine jewellery, gemstones, products, warranties and care requirements.
  • Foster a positive, accountable and collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure store policies, procedures and service standards are consistently followed.
  • Assist with other store and business responsibilities as required.

Key Qualifications and Experience Include:

  • Minimum 5 years of retail sales or customer-service experience, including previous leadership or supervisory responsibility.
  • A demonstrated ability to coach, motivate and develop a sales-focused team.
  • A strong record of achieving sales goals while maintaining a customer-first approach.
  • Fine-jewellery, gemstone, luxury-retail or other high-value product experience is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication, listening, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • A polished, professional and approachable manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Sound judgment, discretion and a high level of integrity when handling valuable merchandise and sensitive information.
  • Experience with inventory management, point-of-sale systems, cash handling and store reporting.
  • Confidence addressing employee performance and customer-service concerns constructively.
  • Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with ownership.
  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
