Occupational Summary:

Newman University, a mission-driven, catholic, liberal arts university, is recruiting for an adjunct position to teach course(s) for our Doctor of Business Administration Program. Minimum qualifications include at least a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration (or equivalent) with specific graduate level hours / knowledge particular towards the subject are.

This position is responsible to cultivate and maintain the institution’s Catholic identity and its mission to empower graduates to transform society. As a member of the Newman University community, adjuncts will join with the institution’s sponsors, the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC Sisters), to witness God’s love in Mission to empower others, foster oneness, celebrate life, form right relationships, and walk as compassionate companions.

Work Performed:

  1. Teaches courses appropriate to academic qualifications. 
  2. Proficiency in online and face to face learning environments. 
  3. Inform students of their progress by promptly returning graded assignments, quizzes, and examinations with appropriate feedback.
  4. Submit mid-term and final grades on Jet Stream by designated deadlines.
  5. Utilize the Learning Management Systems, i.e. Canvas, and other technology as appropriate.
  6. Report performance assessment data as required/requested.
  7. Consult with the Dean or Assistant Dean of the School of Business regarding concerns.

Required Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills/Training:

  1. Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  2. An earned Doctoral degree in Business Administration (or equivalent) or Marketing.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  4. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
  5. Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and coworkers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Evidence of excellence in university teaching.
