As of Jun 7, 2026, the average hourly pay for jcc accounting in the United States is $22.08, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $18.75 and $24.52 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is JCC accounting?

JCC accounting typically refers to the accounting functions and practices specific to Jewish Community Centers (JCCs). This includes managing and recording financial transactions, preparing budgets, ensuring compliance with non-profit regulations, and generating financial reports for the organization. JCC accountants often work with membership dues, program fees, donations, and grants, ensuring that funds are properly allocated and reported. Their role is essential in supporting the financial health and transparency of the JCC.

What is the difference between Jcc Accounting vs Bookkeeper?

AspectJcc AccountingBookkeeper
CertificationsTypically requires accounting certifications or relevant degreesMay require basic bookkeeping certifications or experience
Work EnvironmentOften in accounting firms, corporate finance departments, or small businessesUsually in small to medium-sized businesses, handling day-to-day financial record-keeping
Job ResponsibilitiesFinancial reporting, tax preparation, compliance, and analysisRecording transactions, managing ledgers, invoicing, and payroll

Jcc Accounting professionals focus on comprehensive financial management, including reporting and compliance, often requiring formal accounting credentials. Bookkeepers primarily handle daily transaction recording and basic financial tasks. While both roles involve financial data, Jcc Accountants have a broader scope and higher-level responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a JCC Accountant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a JCC Accountant, you need a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and typically a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and possibly nonprofit financial systems is usually required. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong communication abilities help accountants manage records accurately and interact with diverse stakeholders. These skills are crucial to ensure financial integrity, compliance with regulations, and effective support of the organization's mission.

What are some unique challenges faced by accountants working in a JCC (Jewish Community Center) environment?

Accountants at a JCC often navigate the complexities of managing both non-profit and fee-for-service activities, which means tracking multiple funding streams, grants, and program budgets. They may also be involved in preparing reports for both internal leadership and external stakeholders, such as donors and grant agencies. Collaboration with program directors and fundraising teams is common, as is adapting to seasonal financial cycles based on community programming. This dynamic environment requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to transparency.
