To thrive as a Javascript Developer Remote Intern, you need a solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, HTML, CSS, and ideally experience with frameworks like React or Node.js, often supported by relevant coursework or personal projects. Familiarity with version control systems like Git and exposure to collaborative tools such as Jira or Slack are typically expected. Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, and clear communication are vital soft skills for remote teamwork and independent learning. These skills and qualities enable effective contribution to projects, support smooth remote collaboration, and foster professional growth in a distributed environment.

How does a remote internship as a JavaScript developer typically structure collaboration and mentorship?

In a remote JavaScript Developer internship, collaboration is often facilitated through project management tools, code repositories like GitHub, and regular video calls or chat platforms such as Slack. Interns usually work closely with a mentor or a small team, participating in code reviews and stand-up meetings to track progress and address challenges. Mentorship may take the form of scheduled check-ins, pair programming sessions, and feedback on code submissions. This structure helps interns build both technical and communication skills, while ensuring they remain connected and supported despite working remotely.

Job description

Position Summary:

As a Senior Salesforce Developer, you'll work in Shared Services Technology as a key member of our Application Development Team focused on building out our Salesforce instance. The ideal candidate is an experienced developer with experience working both within the Salesforce platform and in applications that are tightly integrated with it. Right now we're focused on shifting from declarative to programmatic solutions as we scale up toward over 2000 colleagues - the ideal candidate would have a passion for designing and developing scalable solutions and the ability to write software both within Salesforce and adjacent to it. You should have a passion for scalable solutions, high quality user experiences, CI/CD, and understanding where the border of Salesforce ends and other toolchains begin. You will collaborate with the Salesforce Administrators and various stakeholders to gather requirements, architect, and build solutions, as well as support and improve existing configurations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build high quality user experiences using Javascript, Apex, LWCs, Flows, and other tools available to you on and off the Salesforce platform.
  • Collaborate deeply with Product Management and the business to define the last mile of technical execution on requests - this is not a role where the full design spec has been completed before it gets to you, you must be able to communicate and collaborate directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve the developer experience, including improving our CI/CD process and mentoring junior developers on best practices.
  • Develop, execute, and resolve test plans, integration testing and user acceptance testing - this is a forward deployed role that will participate directly with rolling out functionality.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and development patterns.
  • Strive towards coding best practices and design patterns to create optimum applications developed on the Salesforce platform.
  • Assist with system integrations of third-party tools associated with Salesforce, such as DocuSign and Conga Orchestrate.
  • Debug and resolve production issues.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to customize, develop, design, document and manage ongoing system enhancements.
  • Special Projects: Work on a diverse set of special projects ranging from unique multi-system client onboarding buildouts to corporate data reporting and visualization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in administration and development of Salesforce Sales or Service Cloud.
  • Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, and Platform Developer I Certifications.
  • Experience with Flow, Apex, and the Lightning Component Framework.
  • Experience with APIs and integrations.
  • Experience with effective Salesforce DevOps practices.
  • Experience with SQL, Python and/or JavaScript a plus
  • Ability to work independently with a fully remote team.
  • Excellent business communicator.
  • An understanding of the limits of the Salesforce platform, e.g. where declarative ends and development begins.
  • Ability to continuously grow and learn new tools/languages as projects require.
  • Interest in developing personal network through participation in the Trailblazer Community, networking events, and technology organizations.
  • Passion and experience in the Financial Services industry a plus.
