About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineer Full Stack to lead the solutioning, design, development, and support of scalable web applications across the UI, API, backend, batch, and database layers. The expected result is the delivery of secure, reliable, maintainable, and high-performing full stack solutions using React, JavaScript, Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Node.js, and SQL. The incumbent is accountable for translating business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions, guiding development execution, improving application stability and scalability, managing technical risks and dependencies, and driving continuous improvement of the application platform.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of full stack web solutions across UI, API, backend, batch, and database layers.

  • Provide technical direction and solution leadership for scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing applications using React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Node.js, and SQL.

  • Translate business and functional requirements into end-to-end technical solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, engineering standards, security requirements, and long-term platform strategy.

  • Lead the development and enhancement of responsive, reusable, and user-friendly front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks and design patterns to support consistent and scalable web application delivery.

  • Must have hands on experience on batch processing solutions using Spring Batch for scheduled jobs, file-based processing, data transformation, and backend business workflows.

  • Write, optimize, and support SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions to enable application processing, reporting, troubleshooting, and operational support.

  • Design and guide backend application and service development using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Node.js to enable reliable business functionality, system integration, and operational scalability.

  • Design, development, and maintenance of RESTful APIs and service integrations across front-end applications, backend systems, enterprise platforms, and external partners.

  • Lead production support activities for backend, API, batch, and SQL-related issues, including root cause analysis, defect resolution, performance optimization, and implementation of preventive improvements.

  • Guide and mentor engineers by providing technical feedback, promoting coding standards, supporting peer reviews, and encouraging consistent use of reusable patterns and best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in full stack application development, including front-end, API, backend, batch, and database development in enterprise environments

  • Strong hands-on experience in Java development for enterprise applications, including object-oriented design, application architecture, secure coding practices, and scalable solution design.

  • Proven experience building and supporting applications using Spring Boot and Spring Batch, including backend services, batch processing, job scheduling, and business workflow implementation.

  • Strong front-end development experience using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to build responsive, scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly web applications.

  • Strong SQL and database development skills, including writing complex queries, joins, stored procedures, data analysis scripts, and performance-tuned SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with API management, middleware integrations, and event-driven or asynchronous processing patterns.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and support of web applications in cloud-based environments.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated build and deployment tools, and DevOps practices that support reliable software delivery.

  • Experience leading design reviews, code reviews, technical planning sessions, and solution discussions for enterprise application initiatives.

  • Experience mentoring developers, promoting engineering standards, improving code quality, and contributing to application modernization or platform improvement initiatives.

Location: Toronto, ON

The hiring base salary range for this position is $99,200-$136,400 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual's knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
