Job Summary:

They are seeking a mid-level Software Engineer specializing in Backend technologies to join their Product Engineering team, focusing on solving complex problems and building efficient systems to advance their platform.
Responsibilities:
• Build robust services and APIs to power existing and new features for our web and mobile apps
• Own the entire development lifecycle of select roadmap features, including design, development, testing, release and post-release support
• Interact with internal users to support them, receive feedback, and plan new features for the platform
• Contribute to the growth of the team by mentoring junior engineers and performing code reviews to maintain high quality standards.
• Drive the adoption of high-quality code standards and maintainability through the practice of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing comprehensive automated tests
• Handle incidents on-call and participate in postmortem analysis and remediation efforts
• Embody our world-class tech team and company culture
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or other backend engineering frameworks.
• Proficiency in database design and SQL, with 4+ years of industry experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience mentoring junior developers.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• 2+ years of with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Circle CI and owning the release process.
• Detail-oriented with a proven ability to take on complex problems, break them down, and drive optimal solutions.
• A relentless curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement, coupled with a winning attitude.
• Able to work in-office at our headquarters in Downtown Dallas.
Preferred:
• Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure platforms.
• Implementation and management of message brokers like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS for asynchronous processing and inter-service communication.
• Understanding of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
• Proven ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in distributed systems, including experience with profiling tools and load testing.
