Description: We need a Senior Back-End Developer for FiOS Video Development for our direct client in Richardson, TX. This is a great opportunity to be part of a world-class software development team responsible for software engineering of video applications and bring video technology to Cable and IPTV. Job Description / Responsibilities

Work in a team environment to design, code, and test back-end systems for cable video, IP-based Television (IPTV) and mobile applications that video and program guide services, recommendations and search engines for FiOS customers.

Develop Application Web Services in C#/Microsoft .NET , Python, Node.JS interfacing with MS SQL server, MySQL, MongoDB to be consumed by multiple client devices.

Develop code to parse and process Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data for TV and Movies and other metadata and poster images to power various user interfaces for Set Top Boxes and Mobile devices.

Implement secure single sign on login mechanisms and protect web services and customer data using TLS encryption, OpenAuth, etc.

Design relational databases and big data databases.

Develop stored procedures using SQL Server;

Work with external vendors to consume or provide web services or file feeds to interface with on-demand, ad-insertion, search and other 3rd party systems.

Design and deploy back-end services on Windows Servers, Linux, Virtual server environments or cloud environments such as AWS.

Coordinate and collaborate with other developers and teams to integrate new features to the existing software.

Lead developers in a development team for the implementation of the designed software.

Required Skills

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering or Computer Science.

5 years total experience in IT systems development.

5 years experience working in client/server and web-based software development projects involving SQL Server, .NET server development.

3 years working on RESTful web services, AJAX, Javascript, JSON, XML for HTML user interface and mobile applications.

2 years experience working with big data technologies like Hadoop, Memcached, MongoDB, Cassandra.

Experience interfacing with AWS, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or other social networking websites is a plus.

Experience with debugging tools, JIRA and Rational Clear Case Configuration Management tool

Provide system and application support and help troubleshoot customer impacting issues.

Provide technical software documentation, design flows and API documentation to other technical groups and vendors.

Work with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions on time.

Develop patentable intellectual property that benefits the organization.

Creates design documents from given business requirements by the cross functional teams.

Responsible for writing & execute unit test cases to evaluate system performance and functionalities of existing & new features.

Responsible for developing high quality, reusable components by reviewing code periodically.

Manage a team of employees and contractor developers and coordinate their daily work.

Good understanding of a software development life cycle

Ability to work well under pressure in a large and complex environment

Strong ability to rapidly narrow down software bugs in complex environments

Effective Verbal and Written Communication & presentation skills including to development teams.

Must be able to work from Richardson, TX (Dallas area).

Must be authorized to work in the US.
