Job Description

Allocate is looking to add a new backend software engineer to the team!  We’re seeking a proactive backend developer who can help us deliver on our roadmap.  This role is perfect for someone who's passionate about building robust, scalable, and reliable APIs in the context of a rapidly growing development team.  You'll have the opportunity to work on developing new products & features while enhancing existing solutions, all while collaborating with a group of talented individuals who are just as passionate about technology as you are.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Design & implement new features and endpoints in backend APIs
  • Design & implement schema changes to support these new features
Must Haves:
  • 2-3 years of object-oriented software engineering experience
  • 1 year of C# experience
  • 1-2 years experience with SQL-based databases, PostgreSQL a plus
    • Must understand the basics of designing a schema for performance
  • Previous experience building REST APIs
  • Ability to participate in a Git-based development environment with standard work management system
  • Attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
  • Strong communication skills, which have increased importance in a fully remote environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team to deliver key projects & milestones
Nice to Haves (Frontend and DevOps):
  • ASP.NET Web API development experience
  • Experience writing unit tests (xUnit, NUnit, JUnit, etc)
  • Familiarity with basic ORM concepts (such as in Dapper, EntityFramework, etc)
  • Familiarity with FluentMigrator
  • Terraform
  • Docker experience with multiple containers
  • Awareness of the most common AWS services
    • S3, ECS/EKS/Bedrock, etc
  • Experience with Vue, Javascript/TypeScript, and/or raw CSS
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
