Job Summary:
EchoStar is reimagining the future of connectivity, and they are seeking a Software Engineer II to join their DISH Technology team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining custom software for broadcast operations, maximizing system reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Document, develop, deploy, and maintain reliable and efficient code using C#, JAVA, Erlang, Elixir, VB, ASP.NET, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, and other scripting languages
• Build client GUI, console, service, and web applications to support real-time operations in a multi-user environment
• Develop solutions in a mixed Windows/Linux environment
• Design, implement, and maintain SQL databases
• Provide support to the Broadcast Operations and Engineering teams
• Communicate with team regarding new and ongoing projects and issues
• Participate in 24x7 rotating on-call schedule to cover support requirements outside normal business hours
• Collaborate with senior team members with development projects
• Participate in code and documentation reviews
• Identify new tools/methods/processes to improve team communication and efficiency
• Support end-to-end systems integration and regression testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and build requirements and acquire business knowledge
• Work in a high stress environment in a cohesive group setting; possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adhere to policies and follow procedures
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in computer science or related field, plus 3-6 years of software engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be a U.S. Person (a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) as position requires access to U.S. export restricted materials

• Respond to system anomalies, trouble tickets, and user requests
• Ability to support a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24x7 coverage for critical mission operations
• Read and comprehend business periodicals, technical procedures or government policies
• Communicate effectively through written and verbal reports/correspondence
• Respond to questions from peers/managers/customers
• Possess a working knowledge of standard office productivity tools
