CTG is seeking a Java Engineer (API, Vertex) to join our client’s team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting high-performance backend services using Java, Vert.x, reactive programming, and modern cloud-native technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building microservices, event-driven architectures, REST APIs, and distributed systems.

Duration: 12 months
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and support enterprise Java applications and backend services.
- Build scalable APIs and microservices using Java and Vert.x reactive frameworks.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Develop asynchronous processing solutions and integrations within distributed environments.
- Support data ingestion solutions, including Lumi integrations from enterprise databases.
- Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Apply DevOps practices using Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD methodologies.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in Java-based backend development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Vert.x and reactive programming paradigms.
- Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in an Agile environment.
- Prior Lumi ingestion experience is highly preferred.
- Prior client experience with data ingestion to Lumi from databases is required.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience developing enterprise applications using Java/JEE technology stacks.
- Experience with dependency injection, inversion of control, functional programming, test-driven development, and transaction management frameworks.
- Experience supporting large-scale application integrations and cloud-native solutions.
- Strong collaboration skills with development, architecture, and business teams.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
