Job Description

General Responsibilities: Designs, programs, debug, and modify software enhancements, system components and/or new products.. May lead all types of projects, is sought out as SME, and is a product-wide advocate for quality coding. Design, spec, schedule, and provide quality implementation for mid to large-size projects that have higher visibility. Find creative, tractable new ways to improve coding standards. Independently understand scheduling, cost constraints, and impact to other teams; and make resource and architectural trade-offs based on those factors. Anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks, before they occur, and present technical issues and their impact to management. Effectively build and maintain a network of key contacts across company, and leverages these contacts to achieve results. 
Key Responsibilities 
Design and build high-scale, real-time data processing pipelines 
Be a technical leader, collaborating closely with a team of engineers 
Continuously improve productivity and sustainability with great coding, QA and release practices, coaching less-experienced team members 
Collaborate closely with product managers, data analysts, and executive stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers and opportunities within the business 
Qualifications 
Solid experience in object oriented programming, especially Java, design patterns etc. 
Solid experience in building APIs (REST), services, micro services, or LAMP stacks designs 
Experience with data pipelines using Kafka, Storm, Apache Spark, AWS Lambda or similar technologies 
Comfort with agile development techniques, including Scrum, continuous integration and delivery, refactoring, DevOps, etc. 
Familiarity with SQL-based databases (Oracle, MySQL, etc.) and knowledge of NoSQL databases 
Knowledge of Python or shell scripting preferred 
Experience in building high scale, distributed systems preferred 
Knowledge/experience with AWS services is a big plus 
At least 5 years of relevant work experience 
Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent work experience
