Job DescriptionBAE Systems is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Erebus team in Springfield, VA. The ideal candidate should have full lifecycle development experience and be an expert developer with knowledge of systems engineering standards and processes and industry experience. Assigned tasks will be technically challenging, achievable, time-boxed and under the direction of technical leadership. Duties will include analyzing, developing, debugging, testing, configuring, and deploying software solutions in an agile, cloud based, and continuous development environment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required to perform well as a member of a rapid paced, cross-functional team environment.
Tasks include, but not limited to:
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the legacy and new delivered services and capabilities
- Provides continuous user feedback on problem resolution status
- Escalate problem reports to appropriate leads
- Provide systems and account administration consistent with requirements to support remote system service
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Isolates hardware and software problems involving the applications, operating system, hardware, communications infrastructure, or any combination of these
Position is Day shift, but willing to support Swing and Mid Shifts as needed due to customer an operational need.
Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's degree and 9 to 13 years of relevant experience. Additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software practices and configuration management.
- Extensive Java programming experience.
- RESTful and/or SOAP Web Services in Java
- Experience with Linux
- Candidate must possess a Security + or higher level security certification
