Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Core Java Software Engineer with over 12 years of deep expertise in core Java development, particularly in multi-threaded, real-time systems. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance trading systems within the US Rates (Treasury) electronic trading domain. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge financial technology solutions, collaborate with global teams, and contribute to the development of robust, scalable, and automated trading platforms. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the design and development of high-performance, multi-threaded, real-time trading applications using Core Java. 

  • Architect and implement solutions to support electronic trading workflows in US Rates (Treasury), including D2D (Dealer-to-Dealer) and D2C (Dealer-to-Client) channels. 

  • Develop and enhance automated testing frameworks to ensure system stability, performance, and reliability. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. 

  • Optimize existing systems for scalability, latency, and throughput. 

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. 

  • Engage in continuous improvement of development processes and tools. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 12+ years of professional software development experience, with a significant focus on trading applications. 

  • Proven track record of delivering complex, low-latency systems in a financial services environment. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, along with strong communication and teamwork abilities. 

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle. 

Preferred, but not required: 

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Core Java, especially in multi-threaded and real-time system development. 

  • Strong understanding of automated testing frameworks and methodologies. 

  • Familiarity with US Rates (Treasury) electronic trading market structure, with experience in D2D / D2C trading environments. 

  • Knowledge of RFQ (Request for Quote) workflow in US Rates trading, adding value to trading platform enhancements. 

  • Understanding of market making workflows within US Rates markets. 

  • Experience with the ION platform, including configuration and integration, is a plus. 

  • Hands-on experience with KDB databases or related time-series data management tools is a bonus. 

  • Familiarity with financial trading systems, market microstructure, and relevant protocols.Â
