Job description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join its Commercial, Consumer, and Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) team. This role requires experience with AI agents and will be responsible for all phases of software engineering within one of ten squads building the modernized Global Payments & Liquidity Fulfillment Platform.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop moderately complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact

  • Utilize AI Agents to accelerate delivery of complex and large-scale business requirements

  • Apply continuous integration and continuous deployment methods for complex code while maintaining stability, performance and security. Resolve vulnerabilities in code or libraries. Support mitigation of near-term risks; escalates risk and concerns as needed

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs

  • Apply knowledge of Kafka event-based Spring application on Kubernetes container infrastructure in a multi-pod-multi-component application in support of routing application maintenance and troubleshooting of common infrastructure related issues

  • Engage with relevant groups or individuals to share ideas and deliver results

  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

  • Identify opportunities for cross-team partnerships and build effective relationships by identifying tools and methods that enable collaboration


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

  • 4+ years of Java Development experience

  • 3+ years of experience with Kafka and Publish-Subscribe (Pub/Sub) patterns tools


Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise-wide information technology solutions

  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies

  • 1+ years of experience delivering business solutions using AI Agentic tools

  • Financial Services or Banking experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Expectations:

  • Must be able to work on-site at the listed location
