About the Role:

As a Java Developer within the Mining, Quarrying, and Oil and Gas Extraction industry, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust software solutions that support operational efficiency and safety. Your work will directly impact the automation and optimization of complex processes, enabling real-time data analysis and decision-making in challenging environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, data scientists, and field operators to translate business requirements into scalable and reliable applications. This role demands a strong understanding of both software development principles and the unique challenges of the extraction industry to deliver innovative technology solutions. Ultimately, your contributions will help drive technological advancement and operational excellence in a vital sector of the economy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Java development with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience working with relational databases and writing efficient SQL queries.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Mining, Quarrying, or Oil and Gas Extraction industry or related industrial sectors.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing applications.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of real-time data processing and integration with IoT devices or SCADA systems.
  • Certifications in Java programming or relevant cloud technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java applications tailored to the needs of mining and extraction operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring software solutions align with business goals and industry regulations.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software systems to improve performance, security, and scalability.
  • Integrate third-party tools and APIs to extend application functionality and support data interoperability.
