Job Title: Senior Java Developer / Lead Java Developer (Flowable)

Job Type: Full-Time
Locations: Pittsburgh, PA | Dallas, TX | Cleveland, OH (Hybrid/Onsite)

Job Summary

Incedo is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer / Lead Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Flowable BPM to design and develop scalable enterprise applications and workflow-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will lead the development of business process automation, integrate workflow engines with banking applications, and mentor development teams while following Agile best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
  • Develop and implement business workflows using Flowable BPM (BPMN, CMMN, DMN).
  • Build RESTful APIs and integrate them with internal and external banking systems.
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA, and product owners to gather requirements and implement workflow solutions.
  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce coding standards.
  • Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Integrate applications with Kafka, databases, and cloud services.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure compliance with banking security, governance, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of Java development experience.
  • Strong experience with Java 11/17/21.
  • Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Flowable BPM (Process Engine, BPMN, User Tasks, Service Tasks, Workflow Automation).
  • Experience developing REST APIs and Microservices.
  • Strong knowledge of Hibernate/JPA.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging platforms.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and Jenkins.
