Overview

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support the design and creation of technical solutions from functional specifications for complex development projects, analyze the impact of vendor provided updates and upgrades to the system, and programming solutions of the WebMRE family of Health IT systems in support of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) at NIWC Atlantic and other DoD Clients. 

Responsibilities

  • DevOps experience with knowledge of Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and version control
  • Work with customers to understand their business processes and requirements
  • Translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Resolve issues that arise during development
  • Communicate project and development status to key stakeholders throughout entire development process
  • Use best practices to test and deploy changes from development to test, staging and production environments
  • Conduct product development activities in support of application enhancements and system problems
  • Conduct technical design walkthroughs
  • Perform peer reviews on other developer code

Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.

Qualifications

Desired Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience with Scrum
  • 5+ years of Development/Architect in relevant field
  • Experience with Project Management Software (MS Project, JIRA)
  • Ability to work under pressure and to adapt quickly in a rapid, changing environment.

Education and Experience: This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or Engineering in a related field/advanced degree, and a minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience preferably using health IT tools and products.

Clearance: This position requires a Public Trust clearance.

Physcial Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
