Job Overview
Launch your engineering career with our dynamic one-year Technology Rotational Engineering (TRE) program! This foundational full-time role is designed for curious, driven individuals who want to explore the intersection of technology and financial services. Through 4-5 rotations (8-12 weeks each) across engineering teams, you'll build your technical foundation while discovering where your unique strengths can make the greatest impact.
This is a development-focused role where you'll learn, grow, and prove your skills across diverse engineering domains. You'll work alongside experienced engineers with structured mentorship and support as you develop from an emerging engineer into a confident contributor.
Upon program completion, you'll have two full-time career paths: continue as a TRE Rotational Engineer 2 working across teams, or join a specific engineering team full-time based on your interests and performance.
We're not looking for cookie-cutter candidates. Whether you're a philosophy major who taught yourself Python, a music student who built trading algorithms, or an art major who creates stunning data visualizations - we want your unique perspective or even a Software Engineer major specifically focused on Artificial Intelligence.
A Typical Day
  • Pursue strong knowledge of AWS and its resources including and not limited to: AWS S3 Buckets, AWS Lambdas, AWS EC2 Instances and more
  • Develop and maintain backend APIs and microservices using Python, Java, and AWS cloud services
  • Create and enhance user interfaces using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Learn database design principles and contribute to optimization efforts across SQL and NoSQL platforms
  • Participate in DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives and implement secure coding practices under guidance
  • Contribute to data analytics projects and business intelligence solutions
  • Participate in daily standups and agile development processes
  • Document learnings and technical solutions across rotational assignments
  • Present rotation outcomes to department heads and share knowledge with fellow TRE engineers
  • Complete training modules and skill assessments for each rotational domain
  • Collaborate on code reviews and receive feedback to improve development practices
  • Attend technical workshops and lunch-and-learns with engineering leaders

What You'll Bring
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree by June 2026 (any major welcome - Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Liberal Arts with technical experience, etc.)
  • Internship or substantial project experience demonstrating technical ability and initiative
  • Proficiency in at least two programming languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of databases, web development, or system architecture
  • AWS experience or demonstrated interest in cloud technologies (S3, EC2, Lambda) highly recommended
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

Technical Skills
  • Backend development experience with APIs or web services
  • Some frontend development exposure (any framework/library)
  • Version control systems (Git) and collaborative development practices
  • SQL fundamentals and database concepts
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing principles
  • Basic DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipeline exposure (nice to have)
  • Containerization experience with Docker or similar technologies (preferred)
  • Infrastructure as Code concepts or experience with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation (nice to have)
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to different tech stacks
