What is a java programmer contract?

A Java Programmer Contract job is a temporary position where a programmer is hired for a specific duration to develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications. Contract roles can vary in length, from a few months to a year or more, depending on project requirements. Contractors typically work for a company or client without being a full-time employee, often through an agency or as independent consultants. These roles may offer flexibility and higher pay rates compared to permanent positions but usually do not include employee benefits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a java programmer contract?

To thrive as a Java Programmer Contract, you need strong proficiency in Java programming, object-oriented design, and experience with frameworks like Spring and Hibernate, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, build tools like Maven or Gradle, and optionally certification like Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Java SE is valuable. Excellent problem-solving, time management, and clear communication skills help you excel in remote or cross-functional contract environments. These capabilities ensure efficient project delivery, seamless collaboration, and high-quality software solutions within a contractual timeframe.

What are some common challenges faced by contract java programmers?

Contract Java Programmers often encounter challenges such as quickly adapting to new codebases, understanding existing project architectures, and integrating with teams that may have long-established workflows. Because contract roles usually have tight deadlines, the ability to rapidly produce high-quality code and communicate progress is essential. It’s also common to juggle multiple priorities or projects simultaneously, making organization and self-motivation key. By proactively seeking clarity and collaborating effectively, contract Java programmers can quickly overcome these hurdles and deliver successful results.

Description/Company Background:
When you close your eyes at night, do you dream of writing perfect code in an awesome spaceship? And on the craft is a team of your awesome friends who push and challenge you to be better than you were the day before? Well, we're still working on that spaceship part, but we think we can offer you the rest of that dream.
But seriously, if you want to work on a high-traffic website and build products that YOU would actually use, open your eyes to this new adventure. We are looking for a true adventurer, a go-getter of a Developer who can take our team to the next level and rocket-launch us into the next galaxy. Is it you, traveler?

We are an international organization that enables legal, tax, finance and healthcare professionals to be more effective and efficient. We create value by combining information, deep expertise, and technology to provide customers with solutions that improve the quality and effectiveness of actionable information, so they can better serve the clients in their universe.
What we need...
SofTec Solutions is looking for a seasoned developer to join a stellar team working on UI Development. The job involves the following responsibilities:
• Creating and developing highly interactive user interfaces utilizing client side technologies
• 80% of your time will be spent using JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, JQuery
• 20% Java/JSP
• Must be systematic in your approach to problem solving and be detail oriented
• Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solution
• Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule
Qualifications
Who we think will be a great fit...
We're looking for someone who has an interest in Java development, but a passion for getting things done. You're smart enough to work at top companies, but you're picky about finding the right role (this is more than just a job, right?). You're experienced, but you also like to learn new things. And you want to work with smart people and have fun building something great.
You also meet most (if not more) of the following requirements:
• 3+ years of recent hands-on JavaScript experience
• 3+ years of web application development experience
• 2+ years experience with HTML5/CSS3
• 1+ year experience working with Java/JSP
• Bachelor's degree or an intriguing reason for not having one
Nice to Have:
• Must be a flawless executor, not a procrastinator
• Basic OOP and software design knowledge
• Experience with XML, JSON, SPA, RWD, Spring and agile development process will take you a long way on this interstellar adventure
• You're so much fun to work with, that if you were working on the weekend, we'd want to join you.
