Job description

Position: Lead Java Developer
Location: Alpharetta, GA (Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract

W2 only.

Strong Banking/Payments domain experience is required, particularly experience with payment processing, card-based applications, transaction processing, merchant services, or digital banking platforms.

This is a hands-on Java Lead role — candidates must be actively coding and developing, not purely managing, or functioning as a non-coding architect.

We are looking for a Senior Java Lead / Hands-on Java Developer with strong experience in Java/J2EE application development, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and enterprise application architecture. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership while remaining highly hands-on with coding, development, troubleshooting, and delivery.

MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • 12+ years of strong hands-on Java/J2EE development experience, with proven technical leadership.
  • Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Microservices.
  • Hands-on experience building REST APIs and scalable enterprise applications.
  • Strong knowledge of OOP, Design Patterns, SOLID principles, and system design.
  • Strong experience with SQL/Oracle and relational databases.
  • Experience with Git, JUnit/Mockito, CI/CD, and Agile/Scrum.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform, Docker/Kubernetes, and Kafka is highly preferred.
  • Must be hands-on with coding, debugging, code reviews, and production issue resolution while providing technical leadership.
  • Experience with Angular/React or other modern frontend technologies is a plus
  • Experience leading onsite/offshore development teams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise Java applications and services.
