JAVA HOUSE SHIFT MANAGER

  • Pay: Base pay rate is $13 + $6.50 in average tips

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidateโ€™s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Craft coffee, tea, or food items based on customer order
  • Manage small team of Baristas on shift by ensuring Barista team is setup to provide Java House experience for customers
  • Assist in handle escalated customer interactions
  • Provide an energetic and uplifting experience for team and customers
  • Educate and inform customers of differences between roasts, types of coffee, and other product
  • Operate and manage cash register and card payment systems
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers and customers
  • Cash handling โ€“ consolidating tips into the cash drawer, counting, and balancing the cash drawer after each shift, recognizing counterfeit moneys
  • Equipment troubleshooting โ€“ should be knowledgeable about all equipment used, and capable of basic troubleshooting
  • Complaint resolution โ€“ handling guest feedback in a productive and positive way
  • Product integrity โ€“ managing the rotation, expiration, and changing over of all products to ensure all product is excellent
  • Upholding Java House policies and procedures
  • Inventory Managementย 
  • Managing Labor โ€“ ensuring shift is running smoothly and working through all priorities (including but not limited to customer support, cleaning, cash management, inventory management, additional store manager direction, etc.)

ย MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Availability to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • Meet store operating policies and standards
  • Engage with and understand our customers
  • Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Strong interpersonal skills
