Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own and scale a maritime awareness platform at a Series A defense technology company. This is a high-ownership, backend-leaning IC role where you will take features from concept to production with minimal oversight.

Candidates must have experience working in government contracting or government-adjacent environments and understand compliance-driven engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Decompose monolithic services into scalable microservices and design robust data pipelines across the platform
  • Develop and maintain web and mobile applications using TypeScript, React/React Native, Python, and Node.js
  • Work extensively with AWS services (application-level usage: S3, Kinesis, EC2, Fargate, IoT) to support enterprise-scale operations
  • Own features end-to-end, from customer feedback through design, implementation, and production deployment
  • Operate as a self-directed individual contributor in a fast-moving, low-bureaucracy environment

Tech Stack
  • TypeScript

  • Proven experience scaling products from early-stage to enterprise-level reliability (1→10, 10→100)
  • Hands-on experience breaking monolithic systems into microservices with production-grade data pipelines
  • Experience in government contracting, subcontracting, or similar regulated environments (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with compliance-heavy systems and workflows

Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred

Location & Work Model
  • Hybrid role
  • Locations: Washington, D.C., New York, NY, San Francisco, CA
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to one of the above locations
  • U.S. citizenship required (no visa sponsorship available)
