Location: Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 month contract w/extension
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Java Developer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will support and enhance modern microservices-based applications built on Java and Spring Boot. You will work across multiple teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure services in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, support, and troubleshoot microservices using Java and Spring Boot 3/4.
  • Build and consume RESTful APIs, adhering to best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy applications in Kubernetes environments.
  • Leverage observability tools for application monitoring and logging.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining event-driven architectures, such as using messaging queues.
  • Document and expose APIs using tools like Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • Work with API gateways to manage and secure API traffic.
  • Implement and support OAuth for secure authentication and authorization.
  • Adapt to new tools and technologies as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: A college degree is required.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of work experience is required.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Java.
  • Experience with Spring Boot and building RESTful web services.
