Principal It Applications Engineer, Java/nodejs (greensboro, Nc)

About the Job
Job Summary

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this senior technical leader position is also responsible for leading the development of internet applications and software tools. This includes partnering with product teams to understand and define the product vision, and overseeing the development and support of end-to-end solutions including architecting, designing, developing, and testing member-facing applications/systems using cloud, content management systems (CMS) and traditional integrations. This position is also responsible for leading the development of cloud applications, CMS, and integration solutions on a variety of platforms; serving as a lead expert in the research and resolution of technical issues; recommending appropriate interventions/modifications on critical and/or escalated issues; and ensuring work processes and products meet KP IT security and development standards.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Drives the execution of multiple work streams by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and updating new procedures and policies; gaining cross-functional support for objectives and priorities; translating business strategy into actionable business requirements; obtaining and distributing resources; setting standards and measuring progress; removing obstacles that impact performance; guiding performance and developing contingency plans accordingly; solving highly complex issues; and influencing the completion of project tasks by others.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field and eight (8) years experience in software development or a related field. Additional equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Minimum six (6) years experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions development life cycles (e.g., SDLC).

  • Minimum four (4) years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports.

  • Minimum six (6) years experience developing and/or implementing web-based applications.

  • Minimum four (4) years experience in developing and utilizing cloud based technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)

  • Minimum four (4) years experience working with web application frameworks (e.g., Angular, HTML5, CSS, GraphQL, etc.)
