Job description

Job Title: Senior Java Developer

As a full-stack application developer you will be working on design, development, and testing for the Wireless Provisioning domain.

This individual will lead partnership efforts between multiple cross-functional teams including Network, Billing systems, Field teams, Architect teams and many other teams to identify and quickly act on the customer’s feedback. The candidate will partner with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues and partner with others to develop proactive solutions that enable our teams to deliver best-in-class customer experiences. You will be responsible for working on projects and developing and implementing processes, and technologies that support multiple billing systems including Postpaid, Prepaid, Wholesale, Value streams, etc.

With the evolution of Wireless Network Provisioning systems from the legacy, C++ systems to a microservices-based cloud-native, Kubernetes based Open Systems platform the expectation from this role is to streamline the Software Life Cycle Development (SDLC) processes for all the Provisioning interfaces, implement, and suggest ideas to solidify the CI/CD pipeline to be more agile which is very essential in delivering the provisioning related, modernization program on time on EKS and with the highest quality by adapting industry best practices. In addition, this role is responsible for:

Lead the development and design of the Wireless Network Provisioning Systems.

Work through the various phases of the Software Development Life cycle, analyzing the critical Production issues, and planning for proper resolution.

Responsible for the architectural oversight of specific systems and services.

Promote, implement, and educate the team about Agile software development.

Interacting with the Application Leads and other business partners to ensure the effective design Analyze the architecture and relationships between systems and being able to define and lead an end-to-end design for systems.

Deep understanding of Provisioning Applications, Infrastructure, Security & Cloud architecture, and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, and Availability for the underlying applications.

Define roadmaps, build governance, work with the engagement teams, and communicate status to senior technology and business sponsors.

Develop and introduce new proposals and technology to enhance business productivity including automation, process & business enhancements.

Provide ideas to cross-functional teams from multiple vendors to develop innovative solutions by bringing industry-leading cutting-edge technology and solutions, specifically for TMForum APIs, OSS Implementation, and much more.

Create and document business requirements focused on the intended outcome you hope to achieve by requesting new technology/tool builds.

Partner with others to quantify the anticipated business impact, including creating business cases to measure benefits.

Partner to understand the cost of implementing new work and make balanced, data-directed recommendations for which work is most critical to implement.

Responsibilities:

React.JS, Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, PL/SQL,  open-source software, and cloud services.

Experience with cloud-based offerings (Amazon EC2, EKS, Serverless Redis, etc.) Understanding of complex architecture designs and strong knowledge of Oracle Database with the capability to run complex sqls and Stored procedures.

Knowledge of algorithms, design patterns, and componentization approaches.

Expertise with cross-browser, cross-platform, and design constraints .

Experience in building high performance, high availability and highly interactive systems.

Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of technical experience in architecture, development, and integration of backend systems.

Strong Hands–on experience in developing applications using Java J2EE, Spring Framework, JSF, JSP, React JS, PL/SQL, Kibana, Grafana, Unix/Linux,Python and Shell scripting.

Experience in databases such as Oracle, Cassandra, etc.

Experience with 5G Core Provisioning functionality using a deep understanding of VNF, CNF, 3GPP standards, and other open-source communities.

Able to build, train, and develop the depth and skill of technology staff to improve the overall delivery stream and quality of the application portfolio for critical stacks such as. 5G NSA and SA architecture, 3GPP and TMF-based standards Deep knowledge of SOA, Architecture and Design on Microservices, REST Services and Soap Services Development.

Strong hands-on with design patterns, and experience with middleware/messaging technologies such as MQ, Kafka and exposure to event-driven design patterns.

Good understanding of AWS architecture and AWS services, including API, RDS instance, and Lambda to build serverless applications.

Candidates with a Telecommunication background and strong network provisioning experience would be highly preferred.

Deep dive into code for problem resolutions and identify root cause and provide mitigation and resolution strategy.

Experience with open-source tools and technologies to replace or integrate with existing systems and architecture that drives and delivers business benefits / superior customer experience.

Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive – a technical lead for both strategic and tactical initiatives.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with Reactive Java is preferred.

Strong Communication skills.

Knowledge of concepts of security, privacy, etc.

Experience with DevOps Automation and building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Ansible.

C/C++ experience.

Proven experience in leading Software projects/development teams.

Experience triaging/handling high-pressure customers and end-users/requests.

Experience with performance tuning, scalability, and availability.

Experience in Kafka (MSK & Confluent), Redis, Lambda, Kubernetes container management, APIGEE, Ansible & Overall AWS Hands-on experience in certifying and implementing TMF APIs in the Provisioning space.

Experience in Camel, Spring Framework, Redis, and Groovy.

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in technology.

Telecom experience, especially with the knowledge of the underlying network.

Experience in creating presentations and conveying data for executive presentations.

Experience in the Agile process, including writing Jira stories and attending refinement sessions Application monitoring with Kibana, Grafana, New Relic or similar.
